Every day we are faced with terrible news on television about poverty and the millions of people who are suffering from malnutrition in areas of famine, natural disasters and war. Millions of people have died because of hunger and malnutrition and thousands of children die every day because they are not getting enough nutritious food with the right minerals and vitamins. Millions of people have to face poverty and hunger every day, where most of them only get one meal a day or very limited meals.
The world is not only facing hunger but there are many areas with wars, social unrest, lack of education, lack of medical help, unemployment and many more. These people need help! Without any kind of help they are left alone. And many times it all seem impossible to help because the problems are so big. When you are watching television from areas with natural disasters like earth quakes, flooding and typhoons it all seem so chaotic and confusing. When you are seeing the dying, malnutritioned people on television everything seem very depressing and it is easy just to turn to another channel and watch a TV show!
Have you ever thought about helping these people? And not just give to humanitarian aid but be involved in the changing of needy communities and people's lives? The world needs more everyday heroes. There has been a program on CNN about Heroes and how these people are changing lives in their local community. But the world needs more heroes that are willing to sacrifice some of their own to help others. The world needs history makers and you can become a creator of hope and new dreams.
I believe that we all have the ability to change the world around us. If we dream and we believe in our dreams and refuse to give up we can change this world. The world surely needs more history makers, maybe you are the next one! If we start looking at the needs around us, then there are many places where we can help. There is always a need to meet. And maybe you have big dreams about helping others. Maybe you are dreaming about changing communities and even countries. Then I want to encourage you to keep dreaming and focus on your goals, because you can do it! You can become a history maker and make dreams come true.
When I was 17 years old I wanted to help people in socially depressed areas and that is more than 20 years ago. I have been to many nations doing humanitarian aid and mission work. For many years I volunteered with organizations like Teen Challenge, Convoy of Hope, Masters Commission in Europe and other programs doing humanitarian relief. And since 2006 I have been part of Angel Relief International's relief and mission programs. I founded Angel Relief together with my wife with a vision to spread the love of Christ Jesus both with humanitarian needs but also with the gospel.
It's your choice. But I recommend that you sign up as a volunteer to either one of the organizations that is mentioned above or any other. It could be Red Cross, World Vision, Samaritan Purse, UNICEF or any one you like. Make sure that you agree with that charity's mission and goal. Make yourself some experiences and change the world. You can do it. Start Today!

When Angel Relief began humanitarian missions in 2005. One of the places we came to was Smokey Mountain in Manila, Philippines. I have just read about this place in the news, but never imaged that I would go there. Basically Smokey Mountain is an dump-site area in Manila where thousands of poor people including many children are trying to find things to sell and eat. Around this area thousands of people are living in slum areas with tiny small houses build upon each other with very limited space. We visited some of these house and it is almost unbelievably that people can live in such a little space. We also came to an area with a closed factory, that was now used for people to live in. No doors or windows or toilets. They had nothing, it all looked really really poor. And just even more unbelievably was to be right in the dump-site at the Smokey Mountain. To see all the small children looking through all the trash was heart breaking. Our hearts were touched to see a change in this community and other poor areas like this. One of the ways to help is to support education. To get these children into school must be a priority, so that the can help themselves and their families. That is one of things that can be one. There are also other ways to improve the life of these poor people that will have a positive effect that can change their communities.(Agricultural farming project)
Angel Relief have compassion for these children. To see them transformed and transforming their communities. The pictures has some fog or smoke on it, that's why its a little unclear.
